1. Subsequent to the Welcome address, Chairman, CWC highlighted the
presence of wide gap between available technologies and the practices
on ground. 2. The committee noted that ICID and INCID provide an excellent platform to share and learn from each other at global level. 3. Detailed discussion were held on various topics including the goals of INCID, ICID Road Map to vision-2030, training programmes & initiatives for capacity development, ICID awards and the gigantic.task of the organization of 75th IEC and 25th Congress of ICID in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh (India) in 2023. |

Meeting of
INCID was held through video
conferencing on 20th July, 2021
under the chairmanship of Sh.
S.K. Haldar, Chairman INCID
(Chairman CWC). The meeting
had to be adjourned half way in
view of some office exigencies in
Parliament Session. The remaining part of the 2nd Meeting was held in Online mode on 18th October, 2021 under the chairmanship of Sh. K Vohra, Member (WP&P), CWC. |
The first part of the 2nd
In the first part of the 2nd meeting, Sh. A. B. Pandya, Secretary General
(ICID) made a presentation on “World Register of Irrigation Projects”
and emphasized upon the need of such register, as no such database
exists at the world level. During the second part of the 2nd Meeting, the committee deliberated upon the action plan to take forward the Terms of Reference (ToRs) of INCID as well as the preparedness for organizing 25th ICID International Congress and 75th IEC (International Executive Council) meeting scheduled in November’ 2023 at Vishakhapatnam (A.P.), being organized in India after about 56 years. It was decided that a quarterly magazine may be published detailing about various schemes/ projects pertaining to water resource development and management undertaken by Central and State Governments. Further, it was understood that steps should be taken toward making INCID more relevant at National and International level. It was also emphasized upon to create awareness among State Govts for sending nominations for ICID awards namely World Heritage Irrigation Structure (WHIS) and WatSave awards as India is a large country and has a rich history of irrigation structures. |
